The service experience created by the Global Citizenship and Community Action (GCCA) project encourages students become caring, compassionate, responsible and knowledgeable global citizens, capable of making this a better world for all.

As an organized part of the curriculum, GCCAs offer opportunities to apply concepts, skills and knowledge, as students explore the complex global community, gain personal insight, develop existing and new skills, and grow in confidence and responsibility as they engage in the ‘real world’ beyond school.

Teachers meet real identified needs using a service learning model.

Examples of service projects include:

  • Rooftop garden
  • Wednesday lunch
  • Animal Welfare
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Sponsor-a-child
  • Volunteering
  • World Scholar's Cup
  • Robotics
  • Green energy projects within both the school and community
  • Beach clean-up
  • Cancer awareness and fundraising
