Rooftop Garden, Weather Station & Air Quality

Our students' journey began this time last year with a project presented in the Qatar Sustainability Competition. The ISL Qatar team then won a cash prize which provided the budget to actually create their vision.

In addition, weather and air quality stations have been added to the school grounds and are providing data to the world weather and air quality services.

ISL Qatar is currently registered with three data collection sites for weather, listed below. We also post hourly weather data through our @ISLQatarWeather Twitter feed.

ISL Qatar’s Roof Garden awarded by ECO Schools Programme

ISL Qatar’s Roof Garden initiative was honored to win one of the prestigious ECO-Schools Programme awards from Doha Bank for the second year in a row. Twelve schools from around Qatar were awarded trophies.

This commendable nationwide initiative created by Doha Bank fosters environmental awareness and implementation of good environmental practices. As commented by Dr R Seetharaman, Group CEO of Doha Bank, ‘The innovative projects presented by the student teams are proof that they take the concept of conservation and sustainable development very seriously’.
