On15th of October the ISL U16 boys football team picked up their second win in as many days. The boys have made the ISL arena something of a fortress of late, by scoring an impressive 12 goals in two games and conceding only two to sit top of the table in the QUESS Schools League competition.

The boys lined up against GEMS Wellington and from the very start of the game, the ISL boys dominated possession. Their passing and moving was slicker and faster than the away team could handle.

It didn't take long for ISL to get the break through when Laith El-Taweel combined with Nour Eldin, who made no mistake dispatching a beautiful half volley into the bottom corner of the net with just six minutes on the clock. GEMS rallied after conceding an early goal and had ISL under pressure but found Santiago Corrales, Adam Sharman, Andrea Poli and Mateo Palacios in fine form.

Things got worse for the away side ten minutes later, when Jad Nasser capped off a fine ISL move by sending the ball flying into the bottom right hand corner of the GEMS net.

It was all ISL now, Omar Fakhra, Daniel Abi Daoud and Victor Ruiz proving to be too much to handle for the oppositions defense. Five minutes from the half time whistle Jad found himself through on goal and expertly put the ball past the away keeper to get his second and ISL’s third goal of the game.

Two minutes later ISL were 4 up, Omar Fakhra’s direct running paying off as he sent the ball flying past the keeper. Mohammed Awad, Zach Lusardi and Arav Malik were dominating in midfield.

A brilliant first half performance allowed ISL to go in at half time with a commanding 4 goal lead.

Five minutes into the second half Victor Ruiz got on the score sheet with a smart finish from just inside the area. Credit must go to GEMS who should tremendous spirit and never gave up and managed to pull one goal back with 35 minutes gone in the game, a fine individual goal from their leading front man.

With just ten minutes left on the clock Laith danced his way up the touch line and cut a low ball into the path of Victor who beat the keeper to get his second goal of the game. ISL weren’t finished yet Adam Sharman and Nour Eldin having strong efforts saved by the away keeper.

With time just up Jad got his third goal of the game to get the first ISL hat trick of the season. This was another excellent performance from the ISL boys.

Their attention will now turn to the 3rd of November where they will take on Compass International School.
