It was a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon as the two teams lined up inside the ISL arena. The ISL boys started the faster with Victor Ruiz latching onto a delightful ball over the top only to be denied by a magnificent early save from the MIS keeper in the away net.

It was the away side however who opened the scoring on the quarter hour mark, a free kick from 25 yards somehow finding its way to the back of the ISL net. This goal, totally against the run of play stunned the home crowd into silence.

It didn't take long for the ISL boys to bounce back. Zacharia Lusardi, Apostolos Grigoropoulos and Jad Nasser where dominating in midfield and were finding Laith El- Taweel and Daniel Abi Daoud with some impressive passes. The pressure from the ISL boys finally paid off when Zach Lusardi got his head on then end of an excellent cross to nicely head the ball down to Nour Eldin who smashed the ball home to finally get ISL up and running.

The ISL boys were now full of confidence and were putting together some impressive pieces of play. The ISL backline were in total control with Adam Sharman, Omar Fakhra and Andrea Poli well on top, putting ISL in a very comfortable position.

Just before half time ISL put together the move of the half when Laith skillfully skipped past an MIS defender who then managed to find Victor with a lovely pull back pass who with one touch curled the ball into the top right-hand corner of the goal. ISL 2-1 up at the break.

The second half saw ISL show no mercy and within 5 minutes of the restart, Zach split the MIS defense with an audacious through ball for Apostolos who expertly dispatched to make it 3-1. Ten minutes later Jad danced through the MIS backline before being taken down inside the area - penalty! Zach took on the responsibility and confidently dispatched from the spot to put ISL 4-1 up. Shortly after the restart the ISL boys totally switched off and were fortunate not to concede, Santiago Corrales pulling off a superb reaction save to keep MIS out.

Gonzalo Pascua was causing all kinds of trouble for the MIS defenders with his lighting pace and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet. Mateo Palacios, Mohammed Awad and Arav Malik showed the depth of talent the ISL squad has and weren’t giving MIS any foothold in the game whatsoever.

The final goal of the game came when Jad Nasser got on the end of a through ball who finished smartly to make it 5-1 to ISL.

This was an excellent team performance from ISL, who now turn their attention to Tuesday where they will face a strong GEMS Wellington team. Kick off will be @2.45 at ISL. I am sure the ISL boys will be hoping for another win #ISLforthewin #YNWA
