On Tuesday, 7 January, Grade 9 students initiated a GCCA assembly for students as part of their Service as Action Programme. The girls invited, Jose Saucedo, a representative from Doha Environmental Actions Project (DEAP), to give a talk and encourage our community to take action against pollution by recycling and composting their waste and becoming a role model to their peers.
In addition, one of the Grade 10 students announced the launch of her 'Greener Blue Personal Project' for climate change awareness and asked the community to wear blue. A couple of Primary students also encouraged the school to dress up as an animal to help raise awareness of the Australian bush fires as part of their 'Sharing the Planet' movement.
