The Research Institute objectives are to empower young adults to take active research having the freedom to choose their own research question. It also encourages students to discuss ethical issues considering the needs of our diverse community.
We are delighted to announce that ISL Qatar will be launching the Research Institute in the next academic year for grades 6 and 7!
The Research Institute aims to develop research led by young adults in connection with universities as part of our outreach programme.
The Research Institute objectives are to empower young adults, to take active research having the freedom, and to choose their own research question. It also encourages students to discuss ethical issues considering the needs of our diverse community.
This co-curriculum activity also aims to nurture young people’s enthusiasm for research and scholarly habits.
During the weekly session, students will be encouraged to create open guided questions, conduct interviews, collect data and reflect on their findings.
Students will also be encouraged to accurately record sessions via photos, videos, audio-recordings, RF notebook, staff reflections, student reflections.
We have created a group of enthusiastic staff: Mr Mistry, Mrs Kristsineli, Ms Colson, Mrs Zilio and Mrs Pawel whose roles will be to facilitate and to support the process.
This project aims that the staff and students involved in the process are co-learners. We will be working together with the Research Institute in London and we would like to take this opportunity to thank Robert Sharples, the academic mentor and Clare Brumpton the Research institute facilitator in London for their introduction workshop during the professional learning days.
