Welcome to ISL Qatar High School
At ISL Qatar High School, we are more than an educational institution; we are a vibrant community committed to empowering learners through a diverse range of experiences. Grounded in our core values of Integrity, Belonging, Grit, and Kindness, we proudly offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).
Our mission is clear: to empower learners to lead through compassion, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. Beyond academics, our focus extends to nurturing essential life skills and qualities. Our dedicated Community Time program emphasises student well-being, fostering an environment where your child is supported and encouraged to thrive.
As you explore our website, you'll discover the myriad of opportunities, programs, and initiatives that exemplify our dedication to academic excellence, the International Baccalaureate framework, and holistic student development.
We look forward, hopefully, to welcoming you and your family to ISL Qatar in the future. In the meantime, discover the world of opportunities that enrolling your child at ISL Qatar will bring.
Warm regards,
Scott Schaffner
IB Diploma Programme
The core components of the Diploma Programme (DP) consist of a 4000-word research paper, critical analysis of the nature of knowledge and activities focusing on creativity, action and service, which provide an appropriate balance to the academic rigour of the programme.
Importance is placed on critical, reflective and holistic thinking, collaborative working, individual initiative, personal organisation and planning.
As well as the core elements mentioned above, students must take six different subjects, at least three of which are studied at higher level and three at standard level. These include:
Diploma course offerings
Group 1: Language and Literature. We endeavour to provide a teacher for every student's mother tongue or first language. Current and recently offered languages at higher and standard levels include English, Spanish, Arabic, French, and Italian. Group 3: Individuals and Societies. Students can choose to study geography, history, business management or global politics at either higher or standard level. Psychology and economics are offered as online courses.
