The purpose of Week Without Walls (WWW) is to engage our learners in developmentally relevant experiential learning opportunities beyond the classroom, in either local or global contexts, which extends their learning, further develops the competencies of global citizenship, and helps foster the embodiment of our ISL Core Values of Belonging, Integrity, Grit, and Kindness.

OVERVIEW

  1. Promote experiential learning and educational opportunities for students to develop stronger connections and understanding between the classroom and the wider world
  2. Provide opportunities for students to develop the attributes of the ISL Qatar High School IB Learner Profile
  3. Wide Range of offerings for all students and families.

OUTCOMES

Students participating in the ISL Qatar Week Without Walls program will:

  • Develop greater insight into their strengths and areas where they can continue to develop further.
  • Develop the courage to undertake new challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with others.
  • Show perseverance and commitment in pursuing goals.
  • Engage with issues of global importance.
  • Consider the way their actions affect others, the community and the environment.
  • Develop new skills.

From 9 February to 15 February 2024, groups of ISL Qatar students embarked on various journeys that enhanced their understanding about cultures, collaboration, languages, sustainability and service.

This year’s Week Without Walls program (WWW) was a wonderful opportunity for our students to have learning experiences beyond the normal classroom setting, whether here in Qatar, or to an international destination. Our WWW program is a required, highly valued part of our learning program at ISL which provides opportunities for the development of essential skills and life experiences.
